Historical vineyards project

The project framework, the objective, practical relevance

The central questions

The research areas

The simultaneous investigation of vineyards with varying geological starting points, histories and current intensities of use increases the spatial significance of the project findings and provides for their transfer to other winegrowing areas in central Europe with meaningful expanses of non-consolidated vineyard areas.

The research areas are:

The Castellberg in Ballrechten-Dottingen
(Markgräflerland, Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district)

The terraced vineyards of Roßwag (Roßwager Halde)
(Lower Enztal, Ludwigsburg district)

The Neuweier Schlossberg and Mauerberg
(Ortenau, Baden-Baden borough)

The vineyards of Salgesch
(Rhône Valley, Wallis, Switzerland)

The Pulvermächer-vineyard in Kernen-Stetten

Schlossberg von Klingenberg/Main
