Research Focus: Former Surface Mining Areas and Rubbish Dumps

As "second-hand" landscapes, former surface mining areas and rubbish dumps are in particular need of reclamation and organisation. While on one side the achievement of a high ecologically and aesthetically valuable landscape is important, the technical aspects of achieving the long-term security of the environment must also be taken into account.
